Japan Trip - Thursday, January 10th 2008
By the time I got home from the days excursion, I was so tired I didn’t have time to update my journal. Today will also be super busy, so please be patient. I’ll try to keep the photo gallery updated on time.

Me and Ayaka headed out to meet her friend Maki-chan and her boyfriend Masato (Masa) at the train station, the plan was to head over to an area near the highway to visit a car shop. It took a while after asking around a few shops, and finally the Kouban (police box) to figure out where the shop was in relation to the train station. With the advice the friendly police officers gave us, we took a taxi to “Subaru Customize Shop Emotion Fukuoka”.

We finally arrived in front of the shop, and I began to snap photos of the shop car parked out front, a very rare Subaru Impreza WRX STI s204. Only 600 were made, and this particular one was number 102. The s204 is famous for being the highest level of sophistication in the entire GD generation Impreza, as well as being an amazing performer (just being the Spec-C Type RA-R).

We all got back into Fukuoka center (Tenjin) around 3pm, and decided to have a snack at a little shop sellings sweets. When I say little, I mean like fits 6 people maximum. For its size however, it turns out the most amazing desserts I’ve ever seen. I had the Ishiyaki French Toast (Stone-baked french toast), which was an amazing french toast baked in a stone bowl with azuki (sweet red beans), sugar, cinnamon, and served with ice cream. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was absolutely amazing. It brought tears to my eyes.

Ayaka had to visit a few friends of hers after that, so me, Maki and her boyfriend Masato (masa) went shopping in the area. Upon his suggestion we visited a leather shop where I purchased a nice leather an canvas bag that sits on your ass, strapped to your waist. I’m sure some will call it a fanny pack, buts its much more stylish and generally more cool.

From there, we headed to the game center “Round 1″ to enjoy a few rounds of billards. This game center was quite large, as it was 5 stories tall, and had the typical game center stuff such as an arcade for regular games, action sports games, racing games, rhythm games, a coin-slot based game center, pachinko-style games, and strategy type games. It also had a floor for karaoke, comics reading, drinking and smoking. It had another floor for ping pong, basketball and badminton. It also had a full bowling alley. Basically it was a 5-story building filled with enough shit to keep you busy all day. We bought a 3-hour pass, and mostly played pool.

Aya met up with us around 6pm, and we started heading home. I waited for her at a noodle shop while she visited her old piano teacher. Afterwards we headed home, I took a japanese-style bath, and went to sleep.
